PULSE: Poisons and Toxins
EDA:464-0210

Tylenol. Bleach. Alcohol. The things you use on a regular basis can quickly become more hazardous than helpful. It is important for pre-hospital care providers to know what is toxic, where those toxins come from, and how to respond to them. This course provides resources for determining the toxicity of a substance, and it analyzes the various routes of poison exposure. Unintentional poisoning, natural toxins, overdose, and alcohol abuse are discussed, and patient management, treatment, and transport options are reviewed.
